About
KOYI is a gamified educational platform that combines learning and entertainment to create an engaging experience for users.
My Role
I colaborated with my fellow product designer while working on the research, user flows, & maps, the ideation process, the low fidelity designs, wire-framing, colour & font design systems and the final iteration designs. Thanks to the other colleagues like the developers (Front & Back end) and project manger i worked with, it was a fun learning experience for me.
Problem Statement
Traditional educational platforms often struggle to maintain user engagement due to passive learning experiences and a lack of motivation mechanisms. Users are frequently presented with static educational content that does little to encourage consistency, progression, or healthy competition.
The challenge was to design a platform that transforms learning into an engaging and rewarding experience while making educational content accessible, interactive, and enjoyable.

Research and Discovery
During the discovery phase, I explored how gamification influences learning behaviours and user retention. Competitive analysis across educational and gaming products revealed that users are more likely to complete learning activities when they receive immediate feedback, visual progression indicators, and tangible rewards for their efforts.
Another key insight i noticed was the fact that users value flexibility when making payments or subscribing to premium services, they like to feel in control of how they spend their money. So multiple subscription methods significantly improves accessibility and reduces payment-related friction.
Information Architecture
We designed the IA to create a seamless relationship between education and gamification. The platform organizes learning experiences into clearly defined sections that allow users to quickly discover educational content, track their progress, manage rewards, and access subscription services.
Design system
The visual design system was built around a modern blue gradient theme to evoke trust, excitement, and calmness which helps users learn and interact with the plafrom better.

Solution
The first solution we looked into was how to introduce gamiication to the learning process that rewards users for completing educational activities. XP points, levels, and achievement badges were added to provide users with a sense of accomplishment, encourage continuous participation and build user rentention.
Secondly, courses progress indicators and personalized dashboards help provide users with clear visibility into their achievements, learning milestones, and reward status. This reduces uncertainty and increases motivation throughout the learning journey.
We also added reward systems to build friendly competition among users. These elements increase engagement by encouraging users to improve their performance while creating a sense of community and a way to earn within the platform.
Impact
KOYI successfully demonstrates how gamification can enhance educational experiences by transforming traditional learning models into interactive and rewarding journeys. The platform's flexible subscription system, scalable design architecture, and engaging progression mechanics position it as a compelling educational product capable of driving long-term user retention and participation.
